Mistakes to avoid on KETO!

Every day we look into the mirror and promise ourselves to lose weight, want a flat belly, highlighted color bones, no hip dips, no extra leg fat but are unable to do so, even after being diet conscious and spending lots of money and time at the gym.

In 1920’s ketogenic diet became popular for epilepsy therapy, but the diet was abandoned due to the introduction of new anticonvulsant therapies but in 2018 it became a promising diet that solved all the problems all of a sudden.

What is the KETO DIET?

1.    Low carb Diet:

It means you consume very little amount of carbohydrates and higher proportion  of fat, It sounds crazy but its true.

Normally our body burns carbohydrates for energy but when we resist the amount of carbs the body will break down the stored fats, creating molecules called ketones to use as fuel, by this the excess fat of our body is burned.

In the KETO diet, we are taking 75% of your daily calories from fat 20% from protein and 5% from carbs.

By this one can lose lots of weight but mostly doctors say that its normal to lose 2 pounds per week for a normal person.

2.      Is Keto diet safe:

Keto diet is being praised by everyone, but if you consider this diet you will probably want to know if its safe or not?

Yes! Keto diet is safe for significantly over-weight or obese people.

3.      Mistakes that people do when on a Keto diet:

  • Visit your doctor before you start:

Although the diet is very safe but it’s good to visit the doctor and let him suggest you, by this the doctor can help you track the improvements the diet is causing through blood tests and other monitoring techniques. That way you can get solid facts whether the diet is working for you or not.

  • Not consuming much water:

Hydration should be the top most priority. Weather on diet or not. Drink 6 to 8 glass of water per day.

  • Excess of dairy products:

Dairy products seem like a perfect low carb and high-fat food source, it is quite easy to overeat. Many dairy products contain sugar so it is very important to ask your nutrition or check the label while purchasing dairy products. If we overeat dairy products they add fuel to fire and the person gets kicked out of ketosis.

  • Too much snaking:

If you are on Ketosis you might have craving for snacks but too much snacking will increase your blood sugar levels and will knock out you of ketosis.

Instead of snacking you can increase the size of your meal so you may feel full.

  • Sodium is excreted along the water when your body is running on ketones for energy.

If sodium intake is low then you may fall a victim to keto flu,

Which would become the main cause of not replacing your electrolysis. So increase your sodium intake.
